This page is governed by the above object coming from Cécile Muller.
After seeing this object I added several types of animation and some textures to the object.
The Object itself, a little playing with textures:
Spiky
This is the object itself. Whithout any animation.
Spiky
The object again, but with some chrome mapping applied.
BS Contact VRML only
Spiky
The object again, with the same texture as above, but without the chrome mapping effect.
Now about the animations:
Spiky
This rotates the object automatically. A Script emits
a random SFRotation from time to time and an OrientationDamper creates smooth animations between them.
There are various Viewpoints defined in the scene. Use the PgDown and PgUp keys to
view them. They have their best effect if you set the VRML Player (or Internet Explorer) to full screen or
set the window to an aspect ratio of 3:4.
Spiky
The same random and smoothed rotations, but with the chrome mapped object.
BS Contact VRML only
And the most advanced:
Spiky
This randomly rotates the Spiky object and selects a new Viewpoint from
time to time. The Viewpoints are set for Full Screen mode or for Windows of aspect
ration of 4:3. They play with the fieldOfView
parameter.
Best viewed in
BS Contact VRML/X3D because this animates the Viewpoint transitions, including the field of view.
